PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine comprising a crankcase and a cylinder and a method for manufacturing it where a smooth scavenging passage with small passage resistance can be formed, a shape of a mold for casting is simple and the number of the mold is small, and man-hours for manufacturing are reduced in a 2-cycle engine formed with the scavenging passage in the crankcase and the cylinder. SOLUTION: In the 2-cycle engine, the crankcase is formed by fastening and securing a front crankcase and a rear crankcase, divided at a separating plain orthogonal to a crank shaft axis including the center of the cylinder, by a fastening member. The scavenging passage is formed in each of front and rear crankcases, and the scavenging passage communicated to the scavenging passages of the crankcase is formed in the cylinder, which is then fastened and secured to a mounting face in an upper portion of the crankcase by the fastening member. |
