PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an epoxy resin composition providing a cured material having more excellent heat resistance. SOLUTION: This epoxy resin composition is characterized in that the composition comprises an epoxy resin of general formula (1) (Gly is a glycidyl group; R1 and R2 are each independently a 1-10C alkyl group, a 5-7C cycloalkyl group or a 5-7C cycloalkyl group-containing 6-20C hydrocarbon group; I is a number of 0 to 3; j is a number of 0 to 4; n is a number of 1 to 10; R1s on the same nucleus or different nuclei may be mutually different; R2s on the same nucleus or different nuclei may be mutually different; (i)s may be mutually different and (j)s may be mutually different) and a cationic polymerization catalyst of epoxy resin.
