PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain coloring particles, with a narrow nanometer size distribution, high stability and reproducibility, and to obtain, using such particles, a coloring liquid, easy to disperse into a wide range of solvents from nonpolar to polar, free of dye elution from particles and excellent in coloring, transparency, and dispersion stability. SOLUTION: The liquid is prepared by bringing a dye and an organic compound having ionic groups into reaction with a hydrosol of nanometer-size particles containing a metal oxide and a metal hydroxide, and is stabilized when the particle surface is coated with an organic compound. |
