PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air damper capable of preventing impulse noises during fully opening a closure. SOLUTION: The air damper comprises a cylinder 1, a piston 2 to be moved in the cylinder, a first coil spring 7 for springingly energizing the piston to one end of the cylinder in the cylinder, and a string 8 for transmitting damping operation to the closure. A shaft member 9 with a flange portion 10 is provided in the cylinder for loosely fitting the piston in a slidable manner and a second coil spring 12 is laid between the flange portion of the shaft member and the piston at the inside of the first coil spring. With the springing energization of the second coil spring in the latter half of the movement range of the piston, the springing energization of the second coil spring is added to the springing energization of the first coil spring in the latter half of the movement range of the piston. Therefore, the effect of the damper comes short as moving closer to a full-open position as conventional, ensuring prevention of possible impulse noises during fully opening the closure. |
