PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain 1,3-dioxan-2-on-5-yl(meth)acrylate of a (meth)acrylate having a 6-membered carbonate ring structure, and further to provide a method for producing the (meth)acrylate. SOLUTION: This 1,3-dioxan-2-on-5-yl(meth)acrylate is represented by the formula (1). The method for producing the 1,3-dioxan-2-on-5-yl(meth)acrylate is characterized in that the 1,3-dioxan-2-on-5-yl(meth)acrylate is produced by protecting hydroxy groups at the 1- and 3-positions of glycerol by a benzylidene group, esterifying the 2-position thereof by a (meth)acryloyl group-containing compound, deprotecting the 1- and 3-positions of the resultant product, and carbonating the deprotected compound.
