PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate device for a bicycle parking system by setting the target bicycle in a storage state with the stand arm attached to the bicycle and being kept to standing and holding position. SOLUTION: A gate device for bicycle parking system is equipped with a wheel positioning guide groove 3 in a floor 1 having a bicycle storing and taking out mechanism 4 for receiving and giving the target bicycle 2. When the bicycle 2 advances along the guide groove 3, a stand detection base 6 having the size large enough to interfere only with the tip portion 8a of the stand arm 8 located at the position for standing and holding the bicycle equipped to the target bicycle is projected out laterally in a dead lock state from the guide groove 3. If required, a wheel detecting portion 5 capable of detecting the wheel within the range of the predetermined height can be provided in the guide groove 3.
