PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silica brick having excellent thermal conductivity, pressure-resistance strength and wear resistance at high temperature and dense in structure. SOLUTION: In a dense silica brick in which the constitution ratio of cristobalite: tridimite as a crystalline phase is (10-40):(90-60) by wt.%, the metal oxides other than SiO2 contained in the brick as an amorphous phase is 2-12 wt.%, and also bulk specific gravity is >=1.95 and porosity is <=15%, the metal oxides other than SiO2 and CaO contained in the amorphous phase is obtained by adding the alloy of Si and either one among alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, IVa group, VIa group, Mn, Fe, Co, Cu, Zn, B, Ti, Pb, Tl and Ce.
