PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid bearing spindle motor device for retaining lubricant of a thrust bearing part in the inside of the bearing part, ensuring bearing reliability, and performing normal recording and regenerating action, even in the cases of reduced external air pressure and lowered outside air temperature. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a through hole 11d for communicating a space 19 composed of the outer peripheral surface of a flange 13 and the inner peripheral surface of a base 12 opposite to the outer peripheral surface, with outside air, and a through hole 11e for communicating a space 20 composed of the recess of the flange 13 and the head part of a machine screw 14, with the outside air.
