PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetically sealed scroll compressor with an enhanced performance by certainly returning the oil separated by an oil separator using a low-cost configuration and reducing the heating loss in the sealed vessel. SOLUTION: This hermetically sealed scroll compressor is equipped with an oil separator 22 at the discharge side of a sealed vessel 1, wherein a revolving scroll 6 and a stationary scroll 5 are unshed with each other to form a compressing space 56 with the reduced capacity, and the oil 28 separated by the oil separator 22 is returned to an intermediate chamber of the compressing space 56 through a throttle device 25.
