PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punching unit suitable to gangpunch product holes accurately every processing area without the need for a high-power drive mechanism as a control means for a gang die to a direction orthogonal (Y-axis direction) to a feeding direction (X-axis direction) of the tape-shaped article when a plurality of product holes are gangpunched by means of the gang die every processing area partitioned in the longitudinal and lateral directions of a wide tape-shaped article. SOLUTION: A tape-shaped article 100 is intermittently fed in the X-axis direction in a constant quantity, a gang die 2 is controlled in the Y-axis direction, an alignment camera C is directly placed above each of a plurality of reference marks e which are arranged in a process area E in the width direction of the tape-shaped article 100 in a line, and every time the mark e is photographed, a die containing flame 1 is moved correctly in the X-axis direction by means of an alignment data, the gang die 2 is moved correctly in the Y-axis direction, and then product holes H are gangpunched every processing area E.
