PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect whether a central position of an subject is deviated from scan center or not and to inform an operator of the result of the detection. SOLUTION: A central position of a subject is detected based on projection profile of a preview having a view angle of 90 deg. (S5). If a distance between the central position of the subject and the scan center exceeds a predetermined scope (for example, 50 cm) (S6), an alarm for urging the adjustment of a position of the subject for retomographing is displayed on a CRT (S7). Consequently, an X-ray image having satisfactory quality is obtained by adjusting the position of the subject accurately.
