摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a grain oriented silicon steel sheet excellent in glass film characteristics and magnetic properteis by using a separation agent for annealing blended with TiO2 of hyperfine particles large in a specific surface area. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a grain oriented silicon steel sheet in which the surface of a steel sheet after decarburizing annealing is coated with the slurry of a separation agent for annealing essentially consisting of MgO, and, after drying, finish annealing is executed, as the slurry for a separation agent for annealing, the one obtained by blending MgO slurry with TiO2 with a specific surface area of 15 m2/g or more by 0.3 to 10 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of MgO is used. As the TiO2, the one having the average particle size of 0.15μm or less, the one having a specific surface area of 30 m2/g or more and also containing TiO2 with the average particle size of 0.05μm or less by 20% or more and/or the one in which the content of SO4 and/or Cl is 5% or less is preferable. Furthermore, as the MgO, the one in which the 1μm pass of the particle size is 10% or more and also the content of water of hydration is 1 to 3% is preferable.
