<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method by which the computational load of a pass- schedule calculation of which is reduced and control computer is utilized effectively when performing the rolling control of a reversing rolling mill and also the accuracy of shape control is improved by a highly accurate steepness calculating model when calculating a rolling condition at a shape adjusting pass. SOLUTION: When calculating the pass schedule for rolling control, the predicted value of the steepness is expressed by the relationship of the radius of a work roll, sheet width, outlet-side thickness, inlet-side thickness and rolling temperature, the target steepness is set within the pestriction of flatness at each pass and the rolling condition at each pass is successively calculated using a steepness calculating equation toward the pass of a front side from the final pass where the target thickness is taken as the outlet-side thickness. In the case that the rolling condition exceeds the allowable value of the rolling mill which is beforhand given, the rolling condition at that pass is recalculated so as to be within the allowable value and, when the inlet-side thickness is greater than the thickness when the rolling is started, the condition of the recalculated pass is adjusted in accordance with the difference between the inlet-side thickness and the thickness when the rolling is started.</p> |
