摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic porous body suitable as a material used for a filter, a catalyst carrier, etc., and having high porosity having no hindrance to fluid permeation and high specific surface area for increasing reaction area. SOLUTION: Slurry is prepared by dispersing powdery raw materials 1 for ceramic in water 2, and the obtained slurry is held in a vessel having a side wall and a bottom surface. The vessel is put into ethanol and the ethanol is cooled and a water component in the slurry is frozen from bottom surface side to upward to form frost column-shaped ice 3 in the slurry. The ice is subjected to freeze-drying and sublimated to form macrohole 4, and the frozen slurry is sintered to form finehole in a skeleton 5 of the sintered body. In such a way, the porous body having high porosity and high specific surface area is obtained.
