PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pipe pile with widened wing having a back-up member capable of maintaining a large vertical bearing force over a long period of time with the widened wing working together with a foot protecting portion in one united body even though a large pushing force and a pulling force acts to the pile. SOLUTION: In the steel pipe pile with the widened wing projected to the outer periphery of the tip portion, a projection is made to the outer peripheral surface of the steel pipe pile above the widened wing as a feature in the profile.
