<p>Products obtained by reacting a compound of formula:- CH2=C(R)COOR'OH wherein R is H or methyl and R' and is 2-12C alkyl with an organic polyfunctional isocyanate (I). (I) may be an aliphatic, aromatic, alkaryl-, aralkyl- or cycloaliphatic isocyanate, or a prepolymer obtained by reacting a polyhydroxy compound having terminal hydroxyl groups with an aliphatic, aromatic, aralkyl- alkaryl-, or cycloaliphatic polyfunctional isocyanate. The claimed products may be hardened with the aid of conventional vinyl polymerisation catalysts or by high energy irradiation. Copolymerisates may be obtained using the urethane materials with one or more vinyl monomers. The products as claimed may be admixed with plasticisers, fillers, pigments etc. The additives may amount to, up to 75 weight % of the total composition.</p> |
