PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superheated steam generator for cooking food which is capable of efficiently forming superheated steam and may be manufactured at a low cost. SOLUTION: This device has one tank 41 and a heating pipe 61 for heating the inside of the tank 41. The lower side within the tank 41 is provided with a water housing chamber 43 and the upper side of the water housing chamber 43 within the tank 41 is provided with a steam superheating chamber 44. The heating pipe 61 is elongated from the water housing chamber 43 in the tank 41 toward the steam superheating chamber 44.
