CONTINUOUS INK JET PRINTER INCLUDING NOTCH DEFLECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of continuous ink jet printing and a high speed device for page width printing utilizing the same, thereby repeating forming of a drop and deflecting of a direction of a drop. SOLUTION: There is provided a special continuous ink jet printing system that utilizes a notch deflector 62 provided in an ink passage 64 in order to control a deflection angle of an ink drop between a printing direction and a non-printing direction. The width and depth of the notch in the ink passage can be changed in order to generate different angles of the ink drops with respect to the speed applied to the ink passing through the passage. The deflection angle of the ink drop is changed along with the changing speed of the flow of the ink with respect to the width and depth of the notch in the ink passage. A control circuit 13 is coupled to the notch deflector in order to adjust the depth of the deflector with respect to the different deflection angle.
