PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of uniformly distributing slug modifying material to the entire slug surface under a converter just after pouring molten metal from the converter to a ladle (while the slug surface in a melted state). SOLUTION: The slug modifying material charging device comprises a storage hopper 7 of the slug modifying material, an upper fixing chute 17 having a supply pipe 9 for receiving the slug modifying material of the storage hopper, a lower rotation chute 18 of which upper end is rotatably connected to the lower end of the upper fixing chute and upper end is bent at a predetermined angle, rotation driving means 10-14 for rotating the lower rotation chute, an air blower 2 for feeding pressure air to the lower rotation chute through a communication pipe 3, and an air amount adjusting valve 5 for controlling valve opening according to the rotation angle of the lower rotation chute.
