PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal medium especially useful for reflection type MLC displays having short response time even in wide action temperature range and at a low temperature, extremely large resistance and low threshold voltage, increased stability to UV irradiation, small double refractive index, etc., improving visual angle range. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal medium contains a mixture of polar compounds having positive dielectric anisotropy as a substrate and comprises one or two or more kinds of compounds represented by general formula (I). Specifically, a compound represented by general formula (II) is exemplified as the above compounds. |
