PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous treatment method for electric wire and cable wastes, which is capable of continuously and efficiently decomposing the coatings consisting of rubber and plastic applied on the discarded electric wires and cables by supercritical water or subcritical water. SOLUTION: The electric wire and cable wastes 12 exposed with the rubber and plastic coatings are continuously passed into a pressure resistant reaction vessel 1 and are brought into contact reaction with the supercritical water or subcritical water in the pressure resistant reaction vessel 1, by which the rubber and plastic are decomposed.
