PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide weight characteristics of a golf club head without affecting the structural characteristics of the golf club head. SOLUTION: The golf club head 20 is made of a compound material and has a metal weight strip 40 in a ribbon section. The metal strip is made of copper, tungsten and other similar metals. The compound material golf club head has a sole plate 42 made of stainless steel installed on a sole 28 of the golf club head. The golf club head is preferably made of a prepreg sheet ply. The manufacturing method of the golf club head has been disclosed. In this method a three-piece molding tool and an air bag are used to form a compound material golf club head with a metal weight strip built into the ribbon.
