PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball joint capable of securely positioning a bearing seat without interfering with a ball stud. SOLUTION: A bearing seat 4 is inserted into an inner chamber 7 of a housing 2 comprehending a ball head part 11 of a ball stud 3, and then mounted on a caulking machine. The outer peripheral edge of an opening 5 of the housing 2 is caulked and deformed in a constricting radial direction. A wall part 8 inwardly extending in a wall shape is formed in the inner peripheral edge of the opening 5 by pressing such that the extra thickness in the inner peripheral side of the opening 5 is caused to flow. A distance A extending from the inner edge of the opening 5 of the wall part 8 is 30% to 70% of a distance B between the radial inner edge of the opening 5 and the inner edge of the an inserting hole 15 of the bearing seat 4. The ball stud 3 does not interfere with the wall part 8 when it fluctuates, thereby securely preventing the property degradation due to the flow of the bearing seat 4.
