PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable normal/reverse rotation of spin-dry basket, reduce the total height of washing machine through making thin a driver, and make easy take-out of clothes. SOLUTION: In a driver of a washing machine equipped with a speed reduction mechanism 10, a meshing clutch mechanism K, and a drive motor 12, in a coaxial manner, the mechanism K is incorporated in a rotor 13 of the motor 12 and swtiching of the mechanism K is performed by driving a cylindrical cam 19 by a geared motor 26 through a rotation lever 25. With such a simple, low-cost and reliable mechanism K, the size of driver of washing machine is made thin, thereby reducing the total height of washing machine.
