AUTOMATIC LEVELING DEVICE FOR AUTOMOBILE HEADLIGHT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic leveling device capable of controlling right and left headlights simultaneously without being influenced by the hysteresis of an actuator driving circuit. SOLUTION: This automatic leveling device is provided with a lateral pair of headlights whose optical axes L are vertically tilted relative to an automobile body by the driving of each motor 10; a control means 16 for the right and left motors 10; and a storage part 20 for storing pitch angle data detected by an automobile height sensor 14. The control means 16 controls each motor 10 on the basis of the detected pitch angle data so that each optical axis L is inclined at a specified angle to a road surface. The motors 10 are driven only when the difference between a detected pitch angle and a pitch angle used for the preceding motor driving control is not smaller than the specified reference value larger than a pitch angle equivalent to the hysteresis width of right and left motor driving circuit (|θ2-θ1|>θ0) to eliminate the trouble of driving only one motor.
