PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscous coupling capable of locking during revering. SOLUTION: This viscous coupling having two portions 11, 12, a hub and a housing, comprises a freely travelling structure having locking operation in both directions of relative rotation of ring portions 24, 26 at, at least, a rotating acceleration, when a torque flows to a first direction at a positive speed difference between two portions 11, 12, the first and second portions, and having unlocking operation in both directions of the rotation of ring portions 24, 26 when a torque flows to a second direction at a negative speed difference between two portions 11, 12, the first and second portions, the freely travelling structure being made effective between one of the portions, relatively rotatable, and a plate support 22 for supporting at least one portion of a coupling plate 20 on the specified one of the relatively rotatable portions.
