PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To have a toner 1 with the jumping orbit deflected impact on a normal position on an image receiving member 5 in an image forming method and an image forming device for executing the deflection control of the jumping orbit of a toner 1 using deflecting electrodes 10a, 10b. SOLUTION: The timing for starting the deflecting step with the time for starting a toner passage control step corresponding to each deflecting step for deflecting the jumping orbit of the toner 1 as the reference, is varied depending on the deflecting direction. Thereby, since the deflected field strength can be in a stationary state by the time the toner 1 reaches the deflected field area, the toner 1 jumping orbit can always be deflected to a stable direction.
