PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a recycling process is required since the capacity of soft water of a soft water device has a limit in performing washing with the softened water by the device through connecting a city water faucet to the device, but there is no matching between the capability of soft water and the number of washing. SOLUTION: This device is installed between a city water faucet and a washing machine so as to soften the water by the use of ion exchange method and supply the softened water to the washing machine. The device comprises a water quantity detection means provided at the side of soft water outlet of a main body of the device so as to detect the quantity of soft water supplied, a flow passage switching means to divide the passage from a city water supply part into a soft water generation passage and a city water passage, and performs switching if necessary, and a display means to compute the number of remaining washing times until the recycling process is required according to a signal from the detection means at the time when the device is used so as to display the same.
