The invention concerns a device (13) for protecting the auscultating head (1) of a stethoscope against contamination by preventing direct contact with the patient's body. A flexible wall (14) simultaneously protects the two interacting surfaces (2, 3) of the stethoscope providing substantially integral protection. The wall (14) is shaped like a bag with an opening (16) enclosing the connecting conduit (9) by means of an elastic roll edge (17). The invention also concerns other embodiments for integral protection of the two interacting surfaces. He invention is useful for medical hygiene.
