A process for transmission of facsimile messages from a transmitting facsimile machine (1) to a receiving facsimile machine (3) connected to a data transmission network (2) offering periods of reduced rate transmission, in which information (16) specifying an immediate or deferred transmission of a message is associated with a message to be transmitted, and the message is transmitted on the network (2) at a time compatible with the said information (16). A table (13) of reduced rate periods is first stored, the said information (16) is representative of the choice of a transmission during these periods and the time for transmission of the message is determined by comparison between the table (13) and the current time since the request for transmission of the message. <IMAGE> |
