PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve production efficiency while reducing cost. SOLUTION: In assembling a rear view mirror device 10 for a vehicle, a bracket 24 is first set to an assembly reference member, and the bracket 24 is placed on a bracket jig 48 and positioned. A housing unit 16, a mirror surface adjusting unit 30, a door stay 12 and a mirror 4 are then assembled to the bracket 24, and finally a rear view mirror visor 38 is assembled to the bracket 24. Hereupon, the part of the bracket 24 positioned by the bracket jig 48 is made common regardless of a car model to permit the use of the regular bracket jig 48, thus reducing cost. Even when the bracket 24 is flawed by the bracket jig 48, the bracket 24 does not become an off-specification product. Moreover, since the rear view mirror visor 38 is assembled to the bracket 24 in the final process to reduce the flaw defect of the rear view mirror visor 38, production efficiency can be improved.
