PURPOSE: A preform gate cutting device and a method thereof are provided to enhance workability and an operation rate at the same time by continuously cutting a preform gate, to reduce a failure rate in simple structure, and to lower the cost of the device. CONSTITUTION: A preform gate cutting device contains: a preform supplier(S) in which a supply guide rail(60) is slidably installed, to vertically feed a preform(200); a preform aligner(T) aligning the preform while rotating the preform; a preform fixing and moving device(U) rotatably moving the preform from the preform aligner; a gate cutter installed at the upper end of a main frame(F) to cut a gate of the preform; a preform ejector(E) having a discharge guide rail installed on one side of the preform fixing and moving device to eject the preform whose gate is cut by the gate cutter; a power generating and transmitting device(W) rotating each device with power; a control device(P) controlling the supply of electric power, the preform aligner, and the preform fixing and moving device with all kinds of operating switches; and the main frame in which each device is installed.
