Analytical apparatus includes a spectrophotometer (24) with a cell (26) and a device supplying the cell with a fluid sample (3) for analysis. The device includes a syringe (14), a motorized syringe actuator and a 3-way valve connected to the syringe, a reservoir of the fluid and a tube (7,12,19,29) for circulating the sample. The tube includes an optical bench presenting the sample in the cell. Analytical apparatus includes a spectrophotometer with a cell and a device supplying the cell with a fluid sample for analysis. The device includes a syringe, a motorized syringe actuator and a 3-way valve connected to the syringe, a reservoir of the fluid and a tube for circulating the sample. The tube may be long and rigid and has two motorized valves at either end of the optical bench for immobilizing a sample there, and presenting it to the cell. A Peltier effect device may control the temperature of the sample and the optical bench. The syringe actuator is a stepper motor. The spectrophotometer operates in the infra red and near infra red. A computer (31) compares the data from the sample with data from calibrated samples.
