A perforated belt 655 feeds an image bearing sheet W past a fan 664 containing a heater (666) Fig. 7 (not shown) and past infrared lamps 672; the belt itself also being heated by a lamp 681. Heated air passing through the perforations in the belt is returned to the fan via a duct (687) and provides suction for holding sheet W on the belt. Sheet entry and exit slots 653, 683 are closed by solenoid-operated gates 695, 696 during machine warm-up and when no sheet is present in the fixer. |
