The collapsible, large mesh crate is made from vertical and horizontal bars which are welded together so that the horizontal bars are on the outside. The sides have hooks which fit over a vertical side bar on the front and overlap the adjacent cross-bar on it by at least the width of the bar. When the crate is folded down, the vertical side bars on the front and back are staggered from the adjacent side bars on the sides by at least the width of a bar.
