1,174,100. Lathe tools. WILHELM HEGEN-SCHEIDT K.G. 23 Dec., 1966 [24 Dec., 1965; 7 Jan., 1966], No. 57769/66. Heading B3T. A lathe tool comprises two cutting inserts 2, 2<SP>1</SP> secured in a body 1 by screws 7, 7<SP>1</SP> and two chip breakers 3, 3<SP>1</SP> secured in a lever 4 by pins 16. The lever is supported by a screw 10, is longitudinally adjustable by a second screw 12, is clamped by a spring 5, and is transversely adjustable by an eccentric 19. In a modification, inserts 33, 33<SP>1</SP>, Figs. 3, 4, are clamped by a plate 32, chip breakers 37 are soldered in lever 38, and a conical segment 41 of a ring 42 co-operates with a conical recess 40 in the lever. A lever 44 is connected to segment 41, and is guided in an arcuate groove 53, in the lever 38, so that the wedge action of segment 41 due to the tightening of a nut 43 displaces the lever 38 longitudinally, and movement along the arcuate groove displaces the lever in the transverse direction. |
