An improved liquid paperboard product with reduced edgewick sizing propertie s is produced through the incorporation of a calcium carbonate filler in amoun ts of up to 10.0 weight percent. The filler enhances the retention and reactivi ty of a sizing agent such as alkyl ketene dimers which in combination further inhibits liquid penetration into liquid paperboard substrates.
