PURPOSE: To always effectively operate a heating function in an air conditioner for selectively using either one of a cooling circuit and a heating circuit for holding a variable displacement compressor in common. CONSTITUTION: A solenoid capacity control valve 43 controls the delivery volume of a variable displacement compressor 25 in response to differential pressure between delivery pressure Pd of a delivery chamber 132 and suction pressure Ps of a suction chamber 131. The capacity control valve 43 receives magnetization and demagnetization control of a control device 59. When turning on a cooling command switch 63, the control device 59 puts a directional control valve 29 in a demagnetization state to perform cooling control accompanying delivery capacity control by the capacity control valve 43. When turning on a heating command switch 64, the control device 59 puts the directional control valve 29 in a magnetization state to perform heating control accompanying the delivery capacity control by the capacity control valve 43.
