PURPOSE: To provide a process and a device for drying coal, wherein coal can be dried stably even at the time of changing the combustion gas for a coke oven, when the coal is dried in a fluidized bed dryer by using a flue gas of the coke oven. CONSTITUTION: In a process for drying coal comprising drying coal in a fluidized bed dryer using a flue gas of a coke oven as a part or the whole of a feed gas 34 to the fluidized bed dryer, an off-gas 32 from the fluidized bed dryer is recycled to a gas recycle pipe 21 so as to be used again as a feed gas 34 to the fluidized bed dryer, when the feed of the flue gas of the coke oven 1 is stopped or reduced. When the feed of the flue gas 31 of the coke oven 1 is stopped or reduced, the gas discharged from the fluidized bed dryer is recycled thereto to be used again as a feed gas, and also the supply of coal to the fluidized bed 14 is reduced. |
