Procedure to check undercarriage number of motor vehicle bodies for vehicle assembly

Vehicle undercarriage number stamping is monitored by optical image processing system. Image of number is detected and fed to evaluation unit, an industrial PC, which compares it with reference pattern. Assembly procedure continues without interruption if number is correct. If incorrect an optical or acoustic error signal is provided. Independent claim is included for testing device to check motor vehicle undercarriage number.
