The filling method has a filling pipe (3) for the loose material provided with an internal rotary feed element (4,5) and a rotary closure element (6), displaced axially between the closed and open positions at the mouth of the filling pipe. The closure element rotates at the same rate as the feed pipe in each position, with adjustment of the revs and the displacement of the closure element for the filling cycle, in dependence on the flow characteristics of the loose material. An Independent claim for a sack filling device is also included.
