PURPOSE: A low-voltage type wideband operational amplifier is provided to reduce head room request by several tenths of volt by removing a long-tail current source. CONSTITUTION: A differential operational amplifier for operation between a first and a second voltage supply, comprising a differential pair of cascoded input transistors including first input means for receiving first and second input signals, active transistor loads for connecting output means of each of input transistor cascodes to the second voltage supply, and a common mode adjust circuit connected to adjust the currents in the active transistor loads in accordance with the common mode output signal from the output means of the differential pair of cascoded input transistors, wherein in the operation of the amplifier, second input means of cascoded input transistors are coupled directly to the first voltage supply.
