A connection and locking means between a catamaran type ship and a load unit hull of an ocean going skip, the hulls of the catamaran thereby being adapted to be arranged on either side of a sternwardly protruding tongue shaped part of the load unit hull, comprising a connection box protruding substantially in the deck level on either hull of the catamaran facing the opposite catamaran hull, each connection box being adapted to be received in a corresponding box structure in stern of the load unit tongue, a further connection box being arranged on the load unit on either side of the tongue at the front end of the tongue part, a corresponding box structure being arranged in each bow portion of the catamaran, the connection box ensuring the connection between the catamaran hulls and the load unit hull even when a locking mechanism should fail.
