The energy generated by a thermoelectric generator is efficiently used by optimally controlling power supply to load means in consideration of the influences of the Peltier effect on the output voltage of the thermoelectric generator. In a thermoelectric system, a thermoelectric generator (10) provided with a plurality of series thermocouples is connected with load means (20) and control means (30) for measuring the output voltage (V1) of the thermoelectric generator (10) and controlling the supply to the load means (20) depending on the measured voltage. The control means (30) includes correction means that corrects and measures the generated voltage after the thermoelectric generator (10) has continued supplying power to the load means (20) for a predetermined period of time.
