The load platform (1) has an attached support element (3) which is displaced along a support rail (7) attached to the automobile, for extension of the load platform from the load space, a setting device used for movement of the load platform between a fully lowered transport position in which it lies below the loading edge (2) of the load space and a raised position above the loading edge. The support rail has a linear incline between 2 end sections, supporting the load platform support element in its fully retracted and fully extended positions.
