ELECTRONIC DOCUMENT CUSTOMIZATION AND TRANSFORMATION UTILIZING USER FEEDBACK

The present invention relates to a method and system for transformation of an electronic document through learning transformation rules during training via visual user feedback. The transformation rules are applied to an original document, or to a second document having a similar structure to said original document. The transformed document is customized to the user's preferences learned during training, with the resulting document preferably created in a queriable form. The original document can be defined by a markup or document generation language, and subsequently transformed into a queriable form language. Virtual tags and extraction rules are created (11), and stored in a repository as virtual tag objects (12). The tag objects are retrieved (13), and applied to the formation of a transformed virtual page (16). Customization can be applied to web pages, as well as electronic book chapters.
