PURPOSE: A water pump of a vehicle is provided to prevent the thermal damage on a mechanical seal and breakage of a bearing by smoothly circulating cooling water to the mechanical seal through a cooling water flow hole of an impeller and reducing axial thrust applied to the impeller during the circulation of the cooling water. CONSTITUTION: A rotating shaft(6) is supplied in a housing(4) via a bearing(8), and a mechanical seal(14) keeps airtightness in a front portion. An impeller(12) and a pulley(10) are prepared in front and rear portion of the rotating shaft. In both ends of the impeller, at least two cooling water flow holes(20) toward the mechanical seal are formed. The cooling water flow holes are formed in the smallest bore of an impeller blade. Cooling water smoothly flows toward the mechanical seal through the cooling water flow holes. Thus, thermal damage on the mechanical seal is prevented. By reducing the pressure of an intake port without falling of discharge pressure, axial thrust to the impeller is reduced. Thus, breakage of the bearing is avoided.
