METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING STEEL BILLET IN TWIN ROLL TYPE STRIP CASTING

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing steel billet in a twin roll type strip casting is provided which manufactures uniformed steel billet in the width direction of casting rolls by uniformly solidifying the steel billet in the width direction thereof to the utmost. CONSTITUTION: In a method for manufacturing steel billet using a twin roll type strip caster equipped with a cylinder part comprising a sleeve on the surface of which a coating layer is formed; two rolls (20,20') comprising a shaft part connecting both side parts of the cylinder part, wherein the two rolls are oppositely installed; and a meniscus shield (60), the method comprises the process of performing the casting as coating the recovered fume in the width direction of the rolls at a position where the rolls are not contacted with molten steel for the roll surface that is excluded as much as a width of the hot band of steel billet (50) from the edge after recovering fume (61) generated from molten steel inside the meniscus shield.
