PURPOSE: A peptide for measuring Akt protein kinase activity and a method for measuring activity of Akt protein kinase using the peptide are provided, which measures the Akt protein kinase activity rapidly and securely while maintaining high sensitivity. CONSTITUTION: A peptide for measuring Akt protein kinase activity is composed of ten amino acids in which the third and fifth amino acids are arginine, the eighth one is serine or threonine, and the ninth one is hydrophobic amino acid. A method for measuring Akt protein kinase activity gives fluorescent character to the peptide first. Then, the peptide is reacted with Akt protein kinase, and the peptide is divided into a phosphide peptide and a non-phosphide peptide through electrophoresis. The quantity of the phosphide peptide is measured.
