The paint roller has a telescopic sleeve with an internal section (200) and an external section (100) sliding together. The inner section has a sprung arm (220) to cooperate with the external section to prevent sliding. The outer section has a longitudinal window oriented outwardly (105) with longitudinal edges having a series of recesses (135) to retain the lugs on the sprung arm against sliding.
